Suuuuummer is here aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand you have absolutely no idea where to go?
But wait ! Let me tell you about a desert island you would never expect to be in Croatia.
I honestly, never knew these islands could be soo beautiful.
The Island is called Brac – The highest peak of the island, Vidova Gora (Vitus’ Mount) (778 m), is also the highest peak of all Croatian islands.
You can reach the island by boat. There is also a Katamaran every hour from Split to Brac – so you can take your Car with you – which i would recommend. The tickets are about 7-10 Euro per Person.
The Island Brac is the largest Island oft he Central Dalmatian Group of Islands. The roads are very bendy. To get to Bol you have to drive on the other side oft the Island. That means at first uphill – all up the island and then again downhill. About half an hour from Supetar- thats where you get out of the boat.
Bol is very famous fort the beautiful beach called „Zlatni rat“ which means „Golden Cape“. (1)
We stayed at „Hotel Bol“ which i absolutely recommend. If you dont want to spend a lot of money – you can also book a Hostel.
Let me tell you more about our Hotel – Hotel Bol. (2)
Restaurant, Bar, Parking-Garage, Gym, Sauna and Pool – do i have to say more?
The People there are super friendly and the Breakfast is amazing.
There is a Buffet which offers everything – and by everything i mean it!
But you can also choose between scrambled eggs and pancakes or even both…. 😉
You can reach the Golden Cape by a Shuttle offered by the hotel which also picks you up from there.
It’ only about 10 minutes by foot.
There are a lot of Hotels and Bars at the beach -so if you’re in need to drink a cocktail at the beach – dont worry!
The good thing is – if you decide to lay at the Golden Cape there will always be a fresh breeze – because you have the ocean from both sides. Which is very pleasant on hot days.
The funny thing is – sometimes its rainy BUT only for about 10- 15 minutes.
You have Restaurant all over the beach but also in the inner „city“.
Bol is very small but very beautiful. Le’ts take you to the central of bol!
Very small Houses made of Stone a lot of restaurants and bar’s with nice people and live-music.
We’ve tried nearly every restaurant and we love them all.
We never used our car in Bol only if we visited the other cities.
Its very nice to walk on the beach promenade on the evening and enjoy your dinner.
Bol is perfect for a romantic trip with your boyfriend, girlfriend, lover or husband .
If you need some variety at your holidays you can book a boat trip to the other islands which are: Vis, Hvar and Bisevo.
We tried such a trip and we loved it!
Let me tell you something about it…
The Boat trip started at 8 a.m.
First we visited Bisevo where you can find a „Blue Cave“. The ticket is about 4 € per Person. They pick you up with a small boat for about 8 to 10 Persons. The entrance of the Cave is VERY VERY small and at first we thought we wouldnt got in there. You have to bend down to get in the cave which is a little bit scary- but when you enter the cave it’s stunning!
After the Blue Cave we visited several beaches at Vis where we also had lunch – there’s only one Restaurant haha. The beach was sandy and the water was amazing – warm and very clear.
But we also visited Stiniva bay.(3) Situated on the south side of the island Vis, with attractive and unusual look. The entrance from the sea is relatively narrow, and the bay expands and ends in a beautiful beach.
After Vis we got to Hvar – which is also a beautiful small city with a beautiful castle and beautiful hotels.
We stayed there for a few hours – long enough for exploring. (4)
On the way back home we were lucky to see some dolphins –(hope you will be lucky too) – before we visited Dugi Otok – where you can find an old bunker for submarines which is very facinating.
We took a look from the out – and the inside.
On our way home we saw the dragons liar from far away.
We arrived at 5 pm at Bol again and we would book the tour again – it was worth every minute o fit.
The Price is between 50 and 80 Euros per Person. Depends on which tour you book.
The island Brac is very famous for the oilive oil and the lilac. So you can buy very qualitative oil everywhere. There is also a Olive-Farm which you can visit easily by car at Brac. The small cities all over brac are worth visiting. Brac is also famous fort he marble and the limestone. The Palace in Split, the White House or the Hofburg in Vienna are made of the marble and limestone from brac.
I hope i could offer you a good review of brac. If you have further questions, dont hesitate to contact me 🙂
